Who

A former Voguette, duPont is the wife of Richard duPont and a staple at social functions around town.

Backstory

Raised in Chicago, Lauren is the daughter of Arthur Martinez, the former CEO of Sears and a former vice chairman of Saks. The tall blonde attended Simmons College before moving to New York, where she landed a job at Vogue and started making a name for herself on the social circuit. In 2000, Lauren left the mag—after marrying into one of the richest families in town, of course. She still maintains ties to Condé Nast, though: She's currently a contributing editor to Vogue Living. She's also a "creative consultant" to the likes of Clinique and Estée Lauder, once designed an accessories collection for Ralph Lauren, and is behind a jewelry line called Abraham duPont.

Charity circuit

Along with Marina Rust Connor, Lauren Bush, and Aerin Lauder Zinterhofer, duPont has served as gala co-chair of the Frick's Young Fellows Ball. (No surprise there: Lauren's mother-in-law is Emily T. Frick, a trustee of the museum.) She's also hosted events for Neue Galerie and Lenox Hill Neighborhood House.

Personal

In 1997, Lauren married Richard DuPont, a painter, sculptor, and—most importantly—the heir to a chemicals fortune. Formerly residents of Tribeca, the couple now resides on East 67th Street.
