Who

With her dark hair, full eyebrows, and all-American looks, Hilary Rhoda has been described as fashion's next big thing.

Backstory

Rhoda grew up playing lacrosse and field hockey at her Catholic high school in Chevy Chase, Maryland, modeling during vacations. She moved to New York after graduating, joining up with IMG and uber-agent Ivan Bart. Known for her "athletic" build, Rhoda made a name for herself with the Balenciaga show in Paris in 2006. She quickly became the hottest model in town, walking in shows for the likes of Marc Jacobs, Narciso Rodriguez, Michael Kors, and Zac Posen. She's since appeared in ad campaigns for Emanuel Ungaro, Roberto Cavalli, and Ralph Lauren and done dozens of covers for magazines like W and Harper's Bazaar. Named one of Vogue's "World's Next Top Models" alongside Jessica Stam and Coco Rocha in May 2007, Rhoda landed her biggest contract yet when she was chosen by Aerin Lauder Zinterhofer and John Demsey to be the newest face of Estée Lauder.

Of note

Most of the talk about the 5'11" model's "healthy" body type and 4/6 size is hype: She has nearly the same measurements as other top models working today like Jessica Stam and Angela Lindvall. Her Brooke Shields-esque eyebrows are basically the only thing heavy about her.

Personal

Rhoda is single and travels almost everywhere with her mom Marianne, who's also her manager. She lives in an apartment on Astor Place, which she paid $2.077 million for in August '07, while her parents live in Rye, New York.

No joke

And some people think models don't pay attention to politics. Rhoda is registered to vote—and she's a Republican, too.
