Who
The older and more serious-minded of Mayor Bloomberg's two daughters, Emma currently works at the Robin Hood Foundation. Her sister is Georgina Bloomberg.
Backstory
The first byproduct of the marriage between the Mayor and his first wife, British-born Susan Brown, Emma grew up in her father's magnificent East 79th Street townhouse and his many other homes around the globe. When the Bloomberg parents divorced in 1993, they agreed to split custody of Emma and her little sister, Georgina Bloomberg. Emma went to school at Spence and Princeton and first entered the public eye in 2001, when—fresh from writing her senior thesis on medieval poetry and receiving a bachelor's in English—she pitched in on her father's first mayoral campaign. (It doesn't seem her alma mater will be forgetting her any time soon: in 2004, her dad donated $36 million to Princeton to construct a new dormitory, Emma B. Bloomberg Hall.)
After earning a joint degree in public administration and business administration from Harvard Business School, in August 2007 Bloomberg started a job as a senior planning officer at the Robin Hood Foundation, the high-powered David Saltzman-led anti-poverty organization. It's perfect training for joining dad on the philanthropy trail when he finishes up his term as mayor and devotes himself to giving his money away.
Personal
The more down-to-earth and less frivolous of the Bloomberg sisters—she rides the subway and doesn't have a tongue piercing—Emma and former Princeton/HBS classmate Christopher Frissora, the son of Hertz CEO Mark Frissora, were married in 2005 in a ceremony officiated by her father. Originally, they had planned to marry at Susan Bloomberg's home in North Salem, but when the mayor learned that his legal authority to marry did not extend beyond New York City, the couple was officially wedded at Gracie Mansion first. The Westchester fete featured food by Nobu and Daniel Boulud.
Habitat
No longer inhabitants of Bloomberg's 7,900-square-foot Beaux Arts townhouse on the Upper East Side, Emma and her husband paid $2.45 million for a comparatively modest 1,700-square-foot Beach Street loft in March 2007.
