The daughter of fashion billionaire Ralph Lauren, Dylan Lauren runs Dylan's Candy Bar, a chain of upscale candy stores with five locations across the U.S.

When Dylan Lauren was 16, her famous father asked her if he could use her first name for a new women's perfume he was planning. "I'm saving my name for something I own," she told her dad. Five years after graduating from Duke, she got her chance after she convinced her father to finance a candy store concept she'd come up with. Her strategy: "These Park Avenue sophisticates who go to the Polo store and spend trillions of dollars on cashmere sweaters are going to buy gummy bears in my store." In 2001, Lauren's 15,000-square-foot emporium of gummy bears, lollipops, and chocolates opened on Third Avenue and 60th Street, just a block from Bloomingdale's. She's since expanded to five locations across the U.S.

Family ties

Dylan has two brothers: David Lauren, who runs marketing for his father's company and is dating Lauren Bush; and Andrew Lauren, a film producer who executive produced The Squid and the Whale.

Personal

Lauren is dating investment banker Paul Arrouet. A fitness fanatic—she says she runs up to seven miles a day—she lives on the Upper East Side. Her two-bedroom apartment is covered in rainbow fabrics and filled with her collection of more than 1,000 rabbit figurines.
